Chewy chunky jewelry #Review

As I'm gearing up for mommyhood, I've been finding out about all sorts of innovative products mothers have come up with from their own experiences. With the numerous baby options out there, smart choices are crucial in reducing clutter. These multi-function necklaces fits the bill: accessory for mom, play-thing for baby. I came across the idea of teething necklaces for that something soft and safe your little one can chew on and play with while you are carrying them. I think this is so practical and the fun bright colors are a very cute way to add punch to a mommy outfit!
I contacted Emily Thompson after browsing her charismatic Etsy store YouandMeTeething and she was such a good sport to send her Offside Silicone Teething Necklace my way!
I chose this modern anti-symmetrical piece for it's various shapes, sizes textures and the chic combination of colours, turquoises and cream BPA free silicone beads.
A half-necklace is a fantastic idea for the long-tressed mothers because the silicone parts won't get tangled in your hair. These necklaces have much thought put into the details. The smooth ivory nylon cord is super comfortable and the plastic breakaway clasp is easy to use. At $20CAD, YouandMeTeething in comparison to what else is on the market, is fairly priced.

Also, being a fellow Vancouverite, within province delivery creates less of a carbon footprint. It's always a plus to support local small businesses!

Power to dream #Review

Collaborations with down-to-earth moms are awesome!
Robin Powers' Etsy store PowerStitchDesigns takes quirky cartoon prints to another level. All of her products are one-of-a-kind masterpieces handmade with love.
This extra large baby receiving blanket with an outer space-theme will get any little boy's imagination soaring! Astronauts and UFOs galore! Robin takes the care to seek out standout fabrics that set her apart in the Etsy crowd. Furthermore, 100% cotton flannel material makes it super soft for newborn skin. Robin prides herself in using sturdy, durable textiles. At $8.00CAD, this an excellent quality blanket that is well-priced to be well-cherished. As a Canadian, Robin would love to see more of her sales be to the Canadian demographic.

Aims to please accessory #Review

Recently, I've been on the look-out for all sorts of products smart mothers have developed using their own experiences. Modern motherhood is evolving!
I like the idea of these $15CAD brightly hued teething necklaces because they serve multiple purposes. It's something for mommy and something for baby; a 2 for 1 that both parties can enjoy. Such an innovation! Great accessory to shout out to the world "Look, I'm a mom!" and sure to interest and soothe a teething baby!

I contacted Jennifer Paton after coming across her perky Etsy store RaincoastMomandBabe and she generously sent me a string to review. Her bubble mailer arrived within half a week!
Besides the sassy combination of colours fuschia, lime, and green, these silicone beads are also free of BPA, phthalates PVC, cadmium and lead and come in a variety of textures, sizes, and round plus flattened elongated shapes. Interestingly, the pink gems are more malleable than the the other beads. Each piece is safely knotted and the breakaway clasp is another well thought out touch. The chewy material is superior to it's competitor crocheted wooden beads because it won't get soggy and is washable too!

Cuteness overload #Review

I was browsing Etsy when I chanced upon Karen at BareBabies. Her truly unique selection of fabrics incited me to reach out to her and she happily gave me one of her drool catching bibs as a cheeky pre-welcome baby gift:

Adorable technicolor umbrella-yielding skunks is such a delightfully offbeat print! Everytime I look at it, it just makes me smile!

There's plenty more to it than meets the eye. This bandana bib made in 100% organic cotton with furry minky fabric backing is made even more comfortable fitting by it's two adjustable snap settings. This quality bib will protect your child's tender skin from many messes throughout newborn to toddler stage.
If your baby is an avid drooler, stock up on these thirsty bandana bibs!

Creative crochet #Review

Etsy store KristizKrochet pays homage to affinity for fiber; it is stocked with handmade crochet baby photo props and hats. This googly-eyed owl beanie is delightfully imaginative. Those wispy yarn tufts are such an appropriate added bit to make it even more owl-ish!
As you can see, even-handed uniform stitches show much care put into the producing this piece.
Not only is this hat fun, it's practical. Functionality-wise compared to knitting projects, crocheting uses more yarn which results in a denser end-result. That's why for this purpose, crocheting is the better choice in creating a heavier stretchier textile.
Soft turquoise and grey yarn contrast pleasingly in the warm cheery beanie that I chose, but it also comes in purple.
$20CAD will put some flair into your child's winter wardrobe!
